Rajiv Nath is Joint Managing Director of Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd (HMD) & president of All India Syringes & Needles Manufacturers Association (AISNMA) as well as the Founder and forum coordinator Association of Indian Medical Device Industry (AiMeD) with over 350 Members nationwide.

HMD created a niche for their disposable syringe DISPOVA which is today the most popular brand in syringe market in India with over 60% market share and thereby displaced renowned MNC an inspirational case study for other Indian entrepreneurs.

As Forum coordinator of AiMeD, Mr Nath has taken many initiatives of establishing a collaborative framework with various departments of the government and media to bring to their attention issues troubling the industry and attract investments into India in his quest to make India as the preferred manufacturing destination and the leading supplier of medical device worldwide. AiMeD is an umbrella association of Indian manufacturers of medical devices covering all types of medical devices including consumables, disposables, equipments, instruments, implants, electronics and diagnostics. With a primary membership of over 350 manufacturers and additionally of over 200 associate members representing the interest of over 700 manufacturers of medical devices to address the manufacturer problems.

He has also worked on various positions as:

  • Joint coordinator of UdaiMeD (Forum of User  Developer  Academia  Industry  Medical Device Development interface with the Govt.
  • Board Member of Kalam Institute of Healthcare Technology
  • Chairman IPC Committee on Medical Device Standard
  • Chairman Technical Committee ICMED
  • Member of Expert Advisory Group (EAG) for Biomedical Device and Technology Development (BDTD) by Dept of Science & Technology
  • An active Member of expert committee and Task Force for Medical Devices Regulation in India
  • Joint coordinator of Indian Medical Device Regulatory Review Group (IMDRRG)
  • He has widely travelled all over World to over 58 Countries. He has attended various Meetings of WHO/ ICASA/SIGN / ISO / Stop TB
