Arti has been involved in neonatal care since more than last 25 years, innovated and pioneered the concept of Family Centred Care (FCC) in Neonatal Care. FCC was selected as one of the best 45 global best practices in maternal and child health care at Call to Action Summit in 2015. In August 2016 this practice was nominated among the top five innovations at the National Summit of the Innovative And Best Replicable Practices Of India. After initial pilot in select districts of 4 states with support from UNDP-NIPI, currently Family centred care is undergoing implementation in over 100 districts after approval from Government of India. Dr RML Hospital has been accredited as a national Resource cum training centre for the same. This work has been published and presented at national and international fora.
Arti is a recipient of ICMR and WHO fellowship awards. Trained in Medical Bioethics and Biostatistics for Health Research of Johns Hopkins University (JHU), Balitmore, USA (through online certificate course in 2009). She has been nominated by Government of India, Ministry of Health to as an expert to participate in various national and international meetings including recently for a WHO Quality of Care Network launch for Maternal & Newborn health at Malawi in February 2017.
Arti has presented Papers at various international and national for a including a one at Evidence Live 2013(organized by BMJ group) at Oxford in March2013 and at PAS. She has various publications to her credit, authored resource materials and chapters in various books and has been a central coordinating team member with IndiaCLEN, and participated in various public health projects. She served as Secretary Delhi National Neonatal Forum in 2010-11. She is also a national trainer for NRP, IMnCI, FBNC and has been a reviewer of some national and international pediatric journals. She has successfully organized national and international conferences and workshops.
