Maj Gen Jagtar Singh, an alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College Pine, was commisioned in Army Medical Corps in 1981. After doing his mandatory basic courses, the Generak Offr was selected to undergo paratrooper training in 1981 and has taken part in various airborne exercises. He has served on deputation to sultanate of Oman Land Forces for 4 years.
Maj Gen Jagtar Singh, is also an alumnus of prestigious Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) Wellington and qualified in Masters in Defence and Strategic Studies Administration from AFMC Pune. The General Offr is a WHO Fellow in Health Economics having done the studies at Chulalongkom University, Bangkok, Thailand and an assessor for NABH.
Maj Gen Jagtar Singh has held various important staff,
instructional and command appointments. He has help the appt of Join Director Armed Forces Medical Services (Training) in Office of the DGAFMS , Director Medical Services and Deputy Director General Medical Services (Operations, Plans and Projects) in DGMS (Army). In addition the General Offr has also served as Col Trg fir AMC Centre & College and Directing Staff at Offrs Trg College Lucknow. He has been the Senior Registrar of 92 valley and has successfully commanded the 600 bedded Military Hospital Ambala. For his dedication and utmost devotion to duty, the General Offr has been awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal, Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card twice and GOC-in-CARTRAC Commendation Card. He has held the appointment of Commandant & Chief Instructor, Officers Training College AMC C & C Lucknow (wef 01 My 15 to 31 Jan 17) before assuming the appointment of Additional DGAFMS (Eqpts & Stores) at Office of the DGAFMS, Ministry of Defence in Feb 2017.a
