Dr. Ravi Gaur, MD Pathology, is the Chief Operating Officer and Lab Director of Oncquest Laboratories, the largest Molecular Onco Pathology laboratory in India. He has 25 years plus experience in the field of Pathology and Health care management. His core competence has always been in Onco Pathology, Immunology and evolving technologies.
Under his expert guidance and leadership, Oncquest Laboratories have become one of the most reputed laboratories in the country with 23 satellite labs spanning across India. He is one of the pioneers in bringing laboratory services of India at par with the Western world.
He brought International recognition to the Indian Healthcare Industry in the form of accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP USA). Currently he operates over 23 labs, including a super specialty centre in New Delhi with over 500 collection centre all over India. The lab tests over 8000 patients every day or nearly 3 million patients in a year .Oncquest is now a big name for cancer genomic testing in india and adjoining countries.
Dr. Gaur has revolutionized laboratory medicine by introducing the maximum number of new tests, instruments and ICT (Information, Communications, Technology) systems in India. Oncquest R & D unit has done India proud by developing the latest tests in Molecular Diagnostics and is now ,one the largest molecular oncology provider of the country. The aim of the R&D division is to provide highly specialized tests at low cost to the weaker sections of the society.
He has a diverse experience of across all verticals of pathology industry and device validation. In the past, he has successfully established 40 plus independent and 30 hospital labs of various sizes and nature across the country.
Dr. Gaur is a member of many expert and advisory bodies of the industry. He is a senior member of FICCI National health care Committee, Founder member and Head of FICCI NABL Committee on Awareness of Quality in Healthcare and Diagnostics, Advisory Member of National skill development committee for health care ,Expert member NATHEALTH, and various other expert bodies of the diagnostic industry. He is a quality expert with vast experience of NABL processes and was one of first India based Indian to be certified as International inspector for quality audits for College of American Pathology (CAP-USA).
Before joining Oncquest in 2009, Dr Gaur was heading North & East India division of Piramal and Pathnet India Ltd ( a unit of Gribbles Pathology, Australia) .Earlier, he has worked at MAMC Delhi and Army Medical Corps for about 15 years and received in-depth exposure in various pathology diagnostic technologies and Quality lab operations. He holds a rank of Major of Indian army by virtue of his 9 yrs of service in Indian Army Medical Corps.
He is currently working in the area of developing personalized and precision medicine with genomics as a base for all diagnosis and new point of care or near patient testing technologies ,with an aim to deliver the quality and precise diagnostic facilities at all levels and in all sectors of the industry. He has a strong vision to develop India specific technologies catering to India specific needs.
Dr Gaur is a strong supporter of automation, digital pathology platforms and bioinformatics.
He is also advisor to various healthcare start ups, digital healthcare platforms, DPMI and helped them to launch several innovative products, solutions and services.
He has multiple awards, appreciations and clinical publication to his credit .He has recently been awarded for excellence in setting up a global standard molecular pathology lab in India by Word Wide Achievers and ASSOCCHAM. He is also a life member of IAPM and APP.
