Dr. Vinod Nikhra, is M.B.B.S. from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior and M.D. from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. He holds Qualifications in Clinical Nephrology from Banaras Hindu University, in Endocrinology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences and European Society of Endocrinology, and in Hospital Management from National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi.
He has been a Visiting Physician at East Alabama Medical Center a tertiary care facility and listed as one of 100 Best Places to Work in USA. He is a Fellow of International Medical Sciences Academy and Fellow of Royal Society of Medicine, London.
He is affiliated with various medical and scientific organizations. As Life member – Association of Physicians of India, Cardiological Society of India, Indian College of Interventional Cardiology, Indian Rheumatology Association, Indian Society of Nephrology, Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology. Indian Society of Hemodialysis, Delhi Society of Hematology, Association of Physicians of India Delhi Chapter, Cardiological Society of India Delhi Chapter, Indian Medical Association. He is Founder Editor, Madhya: the midage, Journal of Association for Health in Middle Aged, and Reviewer for prestigious international journals, Family Practice (an Oxford University medical journal) and International Journal of Obesity.
His published books has authored various books which include, Fiction: Doctor, doctor and Doctor den and Non-fiction: Anti-obesity Guide, Ageing slowly, Living Longer. The books, particularly Anti-obesity Guide and Ageing slowly, Living Longer have been widely appreciated by medical and scientific community.
Recent Publications include: Various papers in Cardiology Today, Journal of Obesity & Weight Loss Therapy, Journal of Diabetes & Metabolism, and Endocrine Abstracts by BioScientifica. He has presented papers at various international and national conferences. One of his lecture, namely Lessons from the Failed Inhaled Insulins is available on YouTube.
Presently, he is Senior Chief Medical Officer (Senior Administrative Grade) in Hindu Rao Hospital, which is a multispecialty, thousand bedded, government hospital.
