Dr. N. Ravi Chandran
Dr. N. Ravichandran is a highly distinguished academic and a transformational leader in management education, widely recognized as the former (4th regular) Director of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore. He is currently a Professor (Retd.) of Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), where he has been a faculty member since 1980.
Dr. Ravichandran holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics from Annamalai University and a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. His areas of research and teaching excellence include operations management, quantitative methods, information technology strategy, and stochastic models.
During his five-year tenure as Director of IIM Indore, he provided pivotal leadership, rapidly developing world-class infrastructure, dramatically increasing the PGP program’s batch size, and launching both the five-year Integrated Management Programme and the PGP programs in RAK (UAE) and Mumbai. Since retiring from IIMA in 2018, he has been involved with the Manipal Group. Dr. Ravichandran is also the Founder of the Case Research Society of India and has served as a public representative on the governing board of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). He has authored over 50 research papers and is passionate about exploring the relevance of ancient Indian literature to modern management thought.
