Prof. Saurabh Gupta
Dr. Saurabh Gupta is an Associate Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Department at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, with a strong academic foundation that includes a Ph.D. in Inverse Problems from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), an MS in Medical Software from Manipal University, and a B.Tech. in Biomedical Engineering from Bundelkhand University. A prominent academic leader in innovation and interdisciplinary research, he currently serves as the Professor In-charge of the Innovation Cell and the Center of Space and Interplanetary Exploration (COSINE), and has previously led the Technology Incubation Center and served as Convener for the Institute Innovation Council (IIC MoE) and ARIIA rankings. His research lies at the intersection of engineering, medicine, and technology, with special focus on inverse problems, artificial intelligence and consciousness, medical device innovation, entrepreneurship, and bioastronautics. He is deeply committed to experiential learning and design thinking, applying AI to real-world healthcare challenges such as multimodal sleep apnea analysis and lung CT-based disease prediction. Dr. Gupta also mentors Ph.D. scholars and contributes to prestigious national and international innovation programs, including Stanford Biodesign and collaborative initiatives with NITI Aayog and the Piramal Foundation.
