Dr James P Kingsland OBE is the Senior Partner in a nationally renowned, award winning General Practice in the North West of England. He has a wealth of experience in general practice, medical education and medical politics.
Dr James is President of the National Association of Primary Care (UK) having previously served as Chairman from 2004-08. He is the Co-author of the new care model, the Primary Care Home, and is now one of two National Leads for the programme. Dr James served as a senior GP advisor at the Department of Health to both ministers and the senior civil service from 1999 -2002 and from 2009 – 2013. He was the National Clinical Lead for the English Department of Health’s implementation programmes for Clinical Commissioning. Firstly for Practice Based Commissioning and latterly for the NHS Clinical Commissioning Community. In this role he was also the Primary Care Lead on the DH Board of the National Clinical Directors.
